To be honest, I could see myself driving one of these, but I wouldn’t buy one just yet. However, is the $7500 asking price worth owning a 19 year old V6 Mazda? Low mileage especially for the age, (160K KM), and has been winter driven (winter tires are included, with some minor rust on the body). It’s surprisingly clean considering these typically rust up pretty bad.

There aren’t interior shots, so I cannot vouch for the interior.

$7500 seems like too much (even if it was the cleanest rust free example in existence).

Price is too high. I didn't know these were V6s.

price is about 2x to high, otherwise it would be a cool car, very rare with the supper small v6

Fun fact: This 1.8L V6 is one of the smallest V6 engines ever put into production. 7000 rpm redline, 7800 rpm fuel cutoff.

I really like these MX-3s. Take $2k off the asking price and it’s a solid deal, assuming the interior is as nice as the exterior.

Cut the price in half and it’s worth it.

Really? Every example I saw for sale has the v6, but they aren’t always listed.

Yup. They had I4s (same block as the miata) for them too on lower end models.

I thought this car also came with a 1.6L or similar 4 banger. I’ve seen both versions.

This is what Wikipedia says:

1.5 L B5-ZE I4 DOHC
1.6 L B6-ME I4 SOHC
1.6 L B6D I4 DOHC
1.8 L K8 V6 DOHC

And also, to think it’s only 200cc bigger than the engines in f1.

They indeed sold the I4s, I’m just saying I don’t see them listed for sale, it’s always the RS V6s that do.

Quite the opposite in the states, I’ve only seen the I4’s maybe one or two v6’s. At the same time they had the MX-6 and Miata which I think were much more popular cars.

I’d prefer an MX-6 over an MX-3 personally, as it’s a larger car, as well as childhood nostalgia. Here in Canada the MX-3 and MX-6 had ‘nicknames’ for whatever reason. The 2nd gen MX-6 was “Mystere” while the MX-3 was “Precidia” they still had the MX-# badging.
